Letter from the Captain, Hugh Elliott.
A big Hello to all our friends and visitors to South Herefordshire Golf Club. The facilities we have here at the club, a full 18 Holes, a 9 hole par 3 course and 12 bay floodlit driving range are second to none in the area. Our welcoming staff and Professional have proved to make what is probably the friendliest club in Herefordshire area. We welcome all abilities of golfer from juniors at the age of 8, up to our most senior member of 83 years. Our Junior golf plan coaches from 80 -100 youngsters, and takes them from beginners up to county standard. We allow them to play both courses once a certain ability has been achieved, and they are integrated into club competitions.
The changes we are currently making to our infrastructure - a new Kitchen, the appointment of a new chef, enlarging the Patio and new putting green, will help to move us forward to a fresh stage, and will ensure that members and visitors have a new level of enjoyment when visiting the club. Our relaxed attitudes have influenced societies to come back on more than one occasion, and we welcome them with open arms.
The course is very seldom shut, and we invite you to try it out for yourselves, so come and pay us a visit and give us the pleasure of your company.

Leo joined South Herefordshire with the new management team in May 2005. Leo moved to South Herefordshire from Marbella, Spain where he was a professional at a prestigious golf academy. He was appointed Head Professional at South Herefordshire and quickly established a very popular golf school and made improvements to the driving range facilities. Leo has now been promoted to Director of Golf, where he is driving the golf club forwards and overseeing improvements to facilities and services for members and guests.
Alex also joined with the new management team in May 2005. He has vast experience of running licensed establishments and has made changes to the operations to benefit the members and guests. Alex has overseen the building of a new kitchen that has our new chef, Helen Riga offering a wide range of delightful food. The atmosphere that Alex has created in the clubhouse surely makes this one of the most enjoyable places to eat and drink in Herefordshire.
Helen joined the team in April 2006. Helen has 18 years of professional
cooking and Kitchen management experience. Her new menu offers up
many tasty delights and non members are welcome to come down and
sample her food. Helen will be sure to put the finishing touches
to your event with her excellently flavoured and beautifully presented
food.
Colin has worked tirelessly with his team to get the golf course in the condition its in today. Colin, Joe & Paul (Green keepers) have made major implements to the playing surfaces on the course and are currently finishing off our new putting green.
Hugh has been very proactive during the early part of 2006 to move the members forwards and continually improve the atmosphere and organisation within the club. Hugh is an enthusiastic golfer who can be found at the club most days and is regular figure in social and competitive golf.
Ian has taken charge of the thriving senior section at South Herefordshire
for 2006. The seniors have a busy social and competitive calendar.
Ian can be found at the club most weekdays organising this well
supported and social section.
The Ladies have a good competitive and social golfing calendar, meeting on Tuesdays for golf and Thursdays for a Ladies coaching coffee morning. Tim is friendly and encouraging and along with the rest of the section is very welcoming towards new participants at any level. If you are interested in joining in with the golf or coffee morning then Tim and the rest of the Ladies would be delighted to see you on a Tuesday or Thursday morning.
